More About Biocut Food Services
At Biocut Food Services, our mission is simple: make sustainability practical and affordable for schools.
We specialize in compostable, plant-based tableware—including trays, plates, utensils, and cups—designed specifically for school food service programs. By owning our product molds and managing our own logistics, we’re able to offer high-quality, certified compostable products at prices that often beat traditional plastic.
Founded in Michigan, Biocut began with a clear goal: help schools transition away from single-use plastics without compromising their budget or day-to-day operations. Today, we proudly supply districts across the country with a flexible, month-to-month model and responsive, personal support.
Sustainability shouldn’t be complicated. At Biocut, we make sure it isn’t.
Our Team
Biocut was started by Ryan Mulvahill, a student with a growing interest in sustainability and a simple idea: if compostable products were more affordable, more schools would make the switch. What began as a small personal project has grown into a business supplying schools with practical, budget-friendly alternatives to plastic.
Our PARtners
We work closely with a network of trusted overseas manufacturers, packaging providers, and shipping lines to ensure consistent product quality and efficient delivery. These partnerships allow us to keep costs low without cutting corners—so schools can access sustainable products without the inflated prices that typically come with them.
Our System
Biocut’s system is built around flexibility and affordability. By owning our product molds and managing logistics in-house, we eliminate unnecessary middlemen and pass those savings directly to schools. Our month-to-month supply model keeps things simple—no large contracts, no long lead times, just reliable access to compostable products when you need them.
